Steelhead

Also known as the unicorn or ghost of the rivers, they are arguably the best freshwater game fish on the fly. Once hooked they will either leave you speechless, in disbelief or sheer heartbreak. Many have tales of the one that got away, while the lucky ones got their photo taken and a story to tell of a cartwheeling steelhead, ripping line of the reel in a pure adrenalin rush!
These fish will make you remember them for the rest of your life. You have to experience it for yourself to understand what it’s all about. The first steelhead also known as the winter run show up in early February and continue in March and April into the spring run. After the runoff season in May, the summer-run steelhead will enter the rivers in mid July which carries into the fall run from September to October.
The steelhead is considered by many the holy grail of anadromous fish. They are also called “the fish of 10,000 casts” because they are so elusive. If you fish with our team, you will have the best possible chance to get your fish of a life time.
