Chinook

Chinook, also known as the King of the river. The raw power and size will make this
fish the biggest chellenge in your fly fishing life to land.

This is not for everyone, it’s hard work to cast heavy sink tips and flies cast after cast. But when you feel that pull and the river exploded on that firm hook set all hell will break loose. This will be a life changing experience that very few anglers will enounter in their lives. Hooking and landig a big chinook on fly is something really special.


 

Oncorhynchus Tshawytscha

This is the largest Salmon species in the World! Also known as the King, Tyhee, Spring and Chinook Salmon no other salmon has so many different names. They are the true last giants of the river and a legend in many First Nations tales. They start to enter the river when the river is on it’s biggest and most powerful, they swim in heavy currents and their journey is one of the toughest of all the Salmon species. We start to fish for these magnificent fish in early June till mid July. We have a short Window we can target these fish and ask any guide in the Skeena region they will all say the Chinook is their fafourite fish to catch on a fly!

But make no mistake, these fish are like hooking a jet-boat!
They will clean out all your backing in seconds! You need the best of the best material, skill and guides to land one of the true last giants of the river.

If you really like a challenge and a true achievement, then you have to have fly fished for chinook at least once in your life. Hooking a chrome big chinook is one thing, but landing it takes a real team effort between you and your guide.
